Meredith Spencer Mullins, b. 1974, grew up on the campus of Blue Ridge School near Charlottesville, Virginia. Meredith attended the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art, with a concentration in painting and drawing. She then immersed herself in the Master of Fine Arts Painting Program at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. There she found her niche as a figurative painter.
Presently she resides near Richmond, Virginia. In addition to working on her figure paintings and portrait commissions, she teaches at Reynolds Community College. Meredith thrives in a whirlwind circus with her husband, a teaching colleague and fellow artist, and their three children.
In the evolution of her current paintings, the familiar female figure is studied within the contemplative moments of feminine rituals and routines.
